Here's the information on the official - and unofficial - videos...
Danger! High Voltage - the promo video
dir. Kuntz and Maguire, August 2002
Outline: Dick Valentine and his girlfriend (played by Tina Kanarek according to the
official site) explain how their love starts fires whilst various parts of their body
light up. Set in a room with many a painting; watch out for the light-up deer and the
excellent arm movements of the lead singer.
Available: The DVD release of 'Fire'
or the Japanese version of 'Fire' as an enhanced computer element. The best version -
quality wise - is the DVD release. There also appears to be two different versions,
at least as far as audio is concerned, the different being that 'fire in the disco'
echoes near the end on one version but not on the other!
This video is also available to view on the official site
Other Info: Visit the official site for more information about the video.
Gay Bar - the promo video
dir. Kuntz and Maguire, April 2003
Outline: Abraham Lincoln (played by Dick Valentine), who of course lives in
the White house complete with gym and pole dancing room, explains why he'd like to
take a girl to a gay bar, with the help of many of his clones, some well placed props
and a train set.
Available: The DVD release of
'Fire' and the DVD release of 'Gay Bar'.
This video is also available to view on the official site
Other Info: Apparently there were rumours that Abraham Lincoln was gay,
hence the video.
Dance Commander - the promo video
dir. Ruben Fleischer, August 2003
Outline: Another video that makes complete sense (naturally), combining Dick
Valentine trashing his house whilst singing along, spitting out cola and making lots
of air guitar movements, with a South American dictator (bearing absolutely no
resemblance to Dick Valentine in a moustache) singing in a gymnasium with lots of
girls. Quite.
Trivia: According to Dick on his appearance on Riff2 (20th Jan 2007) the girls who appear
in the video had appeared in the video for Outkast's 'Hey Ya' not long before this video was filmed.
Available: On the DVD release of 'Fire' and on the director's website
here.
This video is also available to view on the official site
Radio Ga Ga - the promo video
dir. Kuntz and Maguire
Outline: Freddie Mercury returns from the grave in ghostly form to sing us a
song, whilst dancing on his own grave, drinking beer at a pub with some poodles and
watching some poodles play chess, along with many other scenes, before culminating in
a live performance in front of some instrument playing... you guessed it... poodles. Has
to be seen to be believed.
Available: On the official Electric Six site, as well as on the Radio Ga Ga
official site and also as a computer element on CD2 of the single release.
Not released in DVD quality as yet.

I Buy The Drugs - the promo video
dir. Anthony Ernst Garth / edited. Chris Chynoweth
Outline: The Band, headed by Dick Valentine in a pair of horn-rimmed glasses that make
him look like a throwback to the fifties, dance around a college dorm with pom-pom dancers, men
with letters from 'Electric Six' written on their chest and a beer bong, not to mention a paddling pool
and a sausage dog. Oh, and the band get felt up by hot college girls. What more could you ask?
Available: Currently only available on 'YouTube' as the link shows above!

Video report from Kathy D
"So yesterday was the video shoot for "I Buy the Drugs". I was there as an extra. What follows is a fairly
ridiculously detailed play-by-play. They were going for a frat-party kind of feel for it.
"Outside of the Frat House (it was actually a frat house for Wayne State University in Detroit) was a set up of monitors
and that sort of thing. We parked the van, and walked up. And stood on the lawn waiting. We heard them do a take inside the
house. They were definitely using canned music, but I know P.World was actually drumming. I'm not sure as to the other guys,
they had all of the equiptment, but I couldn't tell whether the amps were on or not.
"Then they asked for twelve guys. They needed them to remove their shirts. Each guy was painted with a letter from
"Electric Six." One guy was the space with a lightning bolt painted on his chest. A good portion of these guys actually
lived in the house. My boyfriend was the "I" in "Six". Then they asked for all the ladies to come inside. We were in a
typical Frat living room, with all the furniture shoved to the sides. The band was set up towards the back. They had all
of us mingle in with the band. I was right next to the Colonel's microphone, and he warned us that he might need to use it.
Okay. Dick Valentine was wearing a gray suit and horn-rimmed glasses. They told us to each grab a balloon and throw them at
the beginning and keep them moving during the shoot. They had a single camera that kind of moved around. They also had five
or six girls dressed kind of like cheerleaders, with modified periwinkle Electric Six shirts, black skirts, Converse high
tops, and they carried little purple pom-poms. They kind of had a routine around Dick. During the take, one of the
cheerleader's skirt came off. Oh well. We then all went back outside.
"Then they filmed the Frat guys passing a keg around. At some point, Dick changed into blue plaid shorts, a white t-shirt,
and burgundy sweater-vest. Very high fashion...
"Next, I think, they brought out a huge beer bong. Two stories tall (long?.) The cheerleaders and Dequindre and Na$hinal
stood on the balcony to man the beer bong. P. World went first. They only poured, I think, one or two beers into it. It was
mostly foam (ick.) Then Tait went, and ended up spilling beer all over himself (probably partially to cool off, it was hot
yesterday.) Then Dick went. I seem to remember that we all stood in front of him chanting "Dick! Dick! Dick!" at this point,
but I can't be sure whether that came later. Anyway, he did the beer bong, and sprayed it at the audience. The crowd goes
wild.
"They did a take or two of the band on the porch of the frat. Then they had the extras line up on either side of the
lawn, and had us go across in small groups. Not sure how that turned out. It was kind of strange. Did three or four takes
of that, at least. Then they had the extras dance around in the middle of the lawn a bit, while the frat guys held Dick
Valentine aloft. A couple takes of that.
"At some point, they shot The Colonel doing a keg stand, lol. That was **** funny to watch.
"They then shot a big group scene on the lawn. They told us that it was a wrap for everyone except Dick. I saw them
moving in a green screen, so I am curious as to what that will be like. In total, the shoot took about 3.5 hours and was a
lot of fun. A lot of waiting around in the heat, but a lot of fun. Of course, on set, the crew was using the guys' real
names.
"I'm eager to know when the video will be released. It was really cool to have a video with all of the band members, not
just Dick. I can't wait to see how it turns out! (Good, I hope...) Even if I don't actually make it into the video, the
experience alone was well worth it."

Mr. Woman - the promo video
dir. Kris Kaczar
A weird nightmarish video, harking back to the just-Dick video days, where Dick is woken up by a pair of girls over
the telephone before getting changed into his trademark businessman suit, finding himself followed by a mysterious orange
object, getting confused about a series of doors before brushing his teeth then tackling the orange object, which turns
out to be a strange, singing, large-tongued creature, with a giant toothbrush before winning the battle. Yes. That is right.
I kid you not.

Young as Hell video
Sometime in 2001 'The Wildbunch' created a short promotional video entitled 'Young
As Hell'. You can view a copy on the Internet as part of an e-card for the 'Fire'
album. See it here. Thanks to
Francis Shiers for the link and for a better copy of the video which is slightly
different in two respects; namely the appearance of a clip involving a dwarf and what
looks like Anthony Selph, which is repeated at the side of the credits.
I've now done a transcription of the video. See it
here.

Dance Commander - early video
Francis Shiers also sent me an early 'black and white' promotional video for
'Dance Commander' featuring the original band. It's very good!
Alex Winston - Everything You Wanted
