Hey! Remember when we needed all those extras a while back?

Well, the fruits of said labor are now available to watch on the site... In the form of the "I Buy The Drugs" video! Yes, there's a time and a place to shoot an Electric Six video, and it's called "college".

Also, a new song has been posted by the name of "Infected Girls". Take your penicillan before inserting this song in your ear.

That's it for now... More to come!

Wanna be a part of the new ELECTRIC SIX video?!
Current mood: rushed

Have you ever watched the video for "Gay Bar" and thought, "I'd make a better Abraham Lincoln than Valentine?" Maybe you think that your presence in the "Dance Commander" video would have salvaged it from being the visual monument to mediocrity that it is today? Maybe you wish it was YOU that was a woman in her sixties and wearing flashing underwear in the "Danger! High Voltage" video? If you've ever had any of these thoughts run through your mind, and you live in the Detroit area, have we got a deal for you!

Electric Six is shooting a video on Saturday, July 1, and we need extras. The video is for a song off the forthcoming album "Switzerland," entitled "I Buy The Drugs." We need lots and lots of extras, as this is to be something of a "party video." So, if you've always wanted to share space with John R. Dequindre, or grab the funny hat off Tait Nucleus' head, you'll want to come to the following location this weekend:

Fraternity House Wayne State
(1 block West of Woodward & the cross street of Canfield)
4251 Cass AvenueDetroit, MI 48201
All extras should show up at 8pm at the location above

Please call Pete by Friday 5pm to confirm times and location @ 313-231-0877

Supporting Acts? Uh oh!
Current mood: hungry

Yeah yeah yeah. You know it.

Anyway, quick note because my brain feels like it's leaking out of my ears:

Toronto through Tucson:
EVERY MOVE A PICTURE
THE BLUE VAN

are the supporting acts.

San Diego through Detroit:

ABERDEEN CITY
THE BLUE VAN

are the supporting acts.

If you find out any new news about any of this, post a comment and let me know. But be nice about it; I'm growing slowly stupider as I type this.

New Tour Dates Posted!
Current mood: horny

Fucking stupid America with all their states scattered around. WHY CAN'T THEY ALL BE IN DESCENDING ALPHABETICAL ORDER. It would make my job a hell of a lot easier.

I'll keep you posted if there are anymore... um... well, posted. I don't know of any overseas, and regardless of how many comments you leave, it won't make them come over there any quicker.

SORRY KIDS BUT SOMEONE HAD TO TELL YOU.

Anyone going to the Halloween show? Anyone?

An Interview with The Colonel
Current mood: snuh?

Time now again for a quickie interview with our beloved Colonel, complete with a supergeneric and only slightly sleep-deprived intro. Also... "jingoistic"? I think I just had a vocabugasm.

1. I am really digging the beard. Is there any particular inspiration for you growing it?

Hey, thanks. My beard is (was) the fruit of an internal struggle, let's say. It was also fueled by a recent obsession with Bob Seger. Sadly, the beard has fallen victim to the pressures of "looking young" and "not scaring people." So that's that.

2. You're the Colonel of Electric Six. How would you rank the other members of the band?

I would rank them by not ranking them. They would not make rank. They are unfit for military service and furthermore, they lack jingoistic zeal. I spit on them.

3. What was your favorite hangout as a young lad?

I spent alot of time at a place called "The Space Station Arcade" in Royal Oak, Michigan. I even had a couple of birthday parties there. When I was a teenager, I would get really high with Chad in the parking lot and play Tron or Rampage for hours on end. I probably would be there right now had it not been turned into a Starbuck's.

4. There's a movie being made about youse all. Who do you think would be cast to play you?

Oh, probably one of your stronger, more masculine leading men. Someone like Jean-Claude Van Damme, or perhaps Steven Segal comes to mind. Then you have your famous weightlifters, Magnus Magnusson and the like... any of these would be deemed a suitable screen likeness for The Colonel.

5. I heard that you compiled a list of the best restaurants in America. Care to give us a taste? (Worst pun ever!)

Sure. The official name of the list is "The Best Places To Eat On a U.S. Tour That Are Sort Of Near The Venues And Are Slightly Healthy, Good Quality, Maybe Even Vegetarian"

- Main Squeeze - Columbia, MO : Great brown rice bowls, stir fry, and raw juice bar. Friendly staff. On 9th street.
- Middle East - Cambridge, MA : Pretty damn good middle eastern food and raw juice. Dick enjoys the Fool Madamas.
- Cafe Habana - New York, NY : Not vegetarian, but really good Cuban food cheap, around the block from Bowery Ballroom.
- Wild Oats Market - Carrboro, NC : Across the street from the sports-themed Holiday Inn. A fine hot & cold food bar.
- Casbah Teahouse - Tucson, AZ : Dread Zeppelin with your vegan burritos? Tortelvis is IN the building!!!
- Sunrise Cafe (or something) - Madison, WI : The best bacon & eggs breakfast. A mindfuck.
- Goldy's Breakfast Bistro - Boise, ID : The other best breakfast mindfuck. High quality, homemade and healthy.
- Tommy's - Cleveland, OH : Good general purpose healthy eatin. Vegetarian options. Shitty long line to get seated.
- House of Blues - New Orleans, LA : Food is so fucking good, and so fucking free you shit yourself. Unless you play right after Mardi Gras in which case you get... some mediocre ribs up the street and cry like a little girl.

I'm sure there's more, but these are the first that come to mind.

Thank you for your time.

At ease!
the colonel

10,000 Members By May 6th!!!
Current mood: groggy

Hello friends and family,

I'm posting this bulletin for a little contest I am holding.

We're coming up on the 1st anniversary of the creation of our precious Six Space, and to celebrate, I thought I'd give you all a little present.

However, much like life, you gotta work for your spoils.

With that said, here's what's going on:

If we reach 10,000 (or more) friends on this space, I will make the "Pleasing Interlude 2 Remix" available for download.

Simple as that.

So spread the word of the Six to all your friends. Decorate pillowcases with iron-on transfers of Percussion World's head. Make a picture of Tait with macaroni and glitter glue. Spray paint "I ♥ Dick" on the hood of your roommate's car. We appreciate the PR any which way but loose.

Let the games begin!

For Those That Need Another Fix of the Six
Current mood: working

I am desperately trying to draw myself away from my Chaucer term paper, so I thought I'd do everyone a service and let you all know about some of the guys' side projects.

Tait? Nucleus has a band called Ghost City. They have an upcoming gig on April 29th at Smalls in Hamtramck. I still don't know how to fucking pronounce that.

Johnny Na$hinal single-handedly mans The Na$hinal Debt.

Percussion World plays the skins in The Christ Punchers and Aquarius Void; the latter includes The Colonel on the electric gee-tar.

Just for fun, I looked to see if there was a Dirty Shame Myspace... and there is... and it contains, of all things, Leonard Nemoy singing a tribute to everyone's favorite Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins. You can look for it yourselves but as far as Dirty Shame tracks go, they are harder to find than Waldo in a candy cane factory. I, however, have the whole of Smog Cutter Love Story... *tents fingers together* Mwah hahahaha.

Back to research.

Current mood: hungry

If you're too lazy to check out the official website, you should know that the boys have a new CD coming out

SEPTEMBER 12th

entitled

SWITZERLAND

.

Like the country.

My guess is the album will be full of rich, creamy rhythms with a crunchy candy coating.

Also, according to the site, there will be a smattering of acoustic gigs in the UK by Mr. Valentine, so if you're lucky enough to be in that general vicinity, check it out.

'Nother tour this summer in the Midwest (squee!) and East Coast with the Psychedelic Furs. Resist the urge to dance like Molly Ringwald.

More updates in the future when the future becomes present. Until then, keep watching the skies.

An Interview With John R. Dequindre

Time now again for the third in the series of Quickie Interviews, this time with our favorite bassist, John R. Dequindre. And if you're not careful, you might just learn something.

1. What is the weirdest thing a fan has ever said to you? "I want to have your children" is standard protocol, so it doesn't count.

Once after a show this guy tried to hook me up with his 65 year old mom and she was standing right next to him. That was kinda strange. I thought he was kidding at first. He wasn't.

2. You're at a poker game with Jesus, the Dalai Lama, and Mother Teresa. Who you do think would be more pissed off if they lost all their money to you?

Man, i am not good at playing along with these kinds of questions. I can tell you that if you want to read an interesting take on Mother Teresa, do a google
search on Christopher Hitchens and Mother Teresa. I imagine a few Hitchens interviews/articles might come up. Very interesting stuff. More interesting than any answer i could muster up for this goofy-ass question.

3. You always wear a pair of red shoes to shows. What's the story behind that trademark? Also, I demand to know where I can get a pair.

I didn't bring the red boots out on this tour. First time in awhile that i left them behind. There's not much life left in those babies and i figured snow and
salt would not do 'em much good. I don't remember where i got those boots but it was about five or six years ago. There really isn't much of a story behind
them other than that.

4. What do you do in your spare time when you're not sexin' it up on stage?

I've been busy writing songs for a couple projects and i've been doing lots of reading. I've got The Dirty Havana Trilogy with me right now, along with a Jerry
Wexler autobiography and that recently published biography of Sam Cooke. My iPod is busted so i've got plans to do LOTS of reading on this tour.

5. What one piece of advice would you give to the youth of the nation today?

Take a good hard look at Tait Nucleus. Study him, watch every move he makes. Then do the opposite....Just kidding, well not really. I've got
nothing but love for Tait but he is having a hard time on this tour. He lost his wallet during the huge NYC blizzard the other night so i let him borrow forty
bucks. We are in Hoboken now and none of us have seen the guy. He disappeared just in time to avoid having to dig the van out of three feet of snow, and i am wondering how far he's gotten with my forty bucks. Sure do hope we find him.

Best of luck to the boys on their tour. If you do get the chance to see them, be sure to set your phasers on "sexified".

Post script: I rather enjoy my goofy-ass questions, thank you very much. ^__^
